The Human Motor Works team is not only passionate about our products, but strives to be the experts. From beginners to competitors, we want our customers to feel comfortable asking questions about advice and service. The active city inspires us, and we are proud to be a part of it. Stop in and talk to one of our mechanics about your bike. If you have to leave it with us for repairs or service, we promise it'll be in good company.
Inspect for wear and tear (worn tires, cables, etc.) · Adjust shift and brake performance ·
Wheel truing · Check torque specifications · Air in the tires
A very quick tune to make your bike safe for any occasion. We will place your bike in our stand, inspect the bike for any safety issues (i.e., worn tires, cables, etc.). We will then make adjustments to the shifting and braking, true the wheels via a visual reference on the bike, check torque spec on major equipment and air your tires to optimal operating pressure.
All services included in the Transition Tune · Clean and lube chain · Wipe down · Inspect/adjust bearing surfaces (hubs, headset, bottom bracket)
This is the industry standard tune-up for almost any bicycle. We will inspect the bike for any signs of unusual wear and tear. We will then clean the chain, true the wheels, give the bike a general wipe down, inspect/adjust all the bearing surfaces (i.e. hubs, headset, bottom bracket), adjust shift and brake performance and lube the chain with quality lube in the appropriate manner. This is a solid hour of work.
All services included in the Sprint Tune · All new cables and housing (recommended every 2 years) · New bar tape (road/tri bikes only)
This tune takes the industry standard to the next level of performance. It is a recommendation of an industry-leading, component manufacturer to replace the control cables and their associated housing every two years to maintain optimum performance for the average rider. Since we ride, we have come to recognize this as one of the few indisputable truths in the cycling industry... new cables and housing give you that "new" bike feel again. So this includes everything we do during the Sprint Tune, plus new control cables and housing. Road/tri bikes will require new bar tape, which is normally an additional charge, but will be installed at no charge during the tune. This tune takes two hours to complete.
Bar tape included · All labor covered · Necessary parts will cost extra
The full distance. We could go "ultra," but that is really just a new bike. This tune takes it all the way to finish line–an exhaustive overhaul of the entire machine. It will take us time to recover from this event. All labor is covered, but any parts required to complete the overhaul will be an additional charge. This tune-up is rare, given the "replaceable" nature of modern bikes. However, if you want the new-bike feel, without the new-bike price, then we shall call you IronMan.
